2. As copyright for the published articles legally belongs to the Journal of Academic History and Thought, it is strictly prohibited to partially or fully quote, copy, or republish any article without proper citation.

3. The submission of an article to the journal does not guarantee its publication.

4. Submitted articles undergo an initial editorial review before being considered for evaluation. The journal reserves the right to reject or delete articles that do not pass the editorial review.

5. If authors fail to respond to revision requests for more than a year, the journal does not guarantee the retention of articles in draft form within its system.

6. Neither the author nor any third party may request the removal of a published article without legal justification and a court decision. The journal editorial board reserves the right to remove an article if deemed necessary.

7. The evaluation and publication process of articles is conducted with strict adherence to scientific and ethical standards. Authors are not entitled to request information regarding the identity of peer reviewers in the double-blind peer-review process. The Journal of Academic History and Thought holds the sole authority in managing and finalizing the peer-review process.

PUBLICATION PROCESS
Articles submitted to the Journal of Academic History and Thought undergo the following stages

• Preliminary Review
• Plagiarism Screening
• Field Editor Review
• Peer Review
• Language and Writing Editing
• Typesetting and Layout

Once an article passes the preliminary review, it is subjected to plagiarism screening before being assigned to the relevant field editor. Articles deemed unsuitable or misaligned with the journal’s scope are returned to the author. Articles that successfully pass the preliminary review are sent to two reviewers under the double-blind peer review system (preferably, one from Turkey and one from an international institution). If both reviewers provide positive evaluations, the article is returned to the author for any necessary revisions. After these revisions are completed, the article undergoes final language and writing editing before being approved for publication. The article is then formatted and assigned to an issue deemed appropriate by the editorial board.

If one reviewer provides a positive evaluation while the other submits a negative one, the article is forwarded to a third reviewer. The editorial decision is based on the third reviewer’s assessment. Should the third review create uncertainty, a fourth reviewer may be consulted if deemed necessary.

Throughout the review process, strict confidentiality is maintained—authors do not know the identities of the reviewers, and vice versa. The editor has full authority to ensure the anonymity of both parties.

There is no predetermined limit on the number of articles per issue. However, one-quarter of the articles in each issue are allocated to submissions from members of the editorial board and the journal’s advisory committee. Articles submitted by these members are subject to the double-blind peer review process, managed by international guest editors assigned specifically for this purpose.

    Dergiye Gönderilecek Makaleler Hakkında;

While articles which have been sended to the journal are being made ready for publication according to their current situations after their scientific situation has been determined during publication process, they shall be made ripe (matured) from different multi-directional points of view and shall gain scientific quality (feature) by publishing on the following first issue upon final approval (confirmation) which would be taken from peer-reviewers

Fee Policy
In accordance with the decision taken by the Higher Education Council (YÖK) at the General Assembly meeting on 07.03.2019, Academic History and Thought Journal is eligible for inclusion in the declaration of associate professorship applications. Since our journal falls under the category of journals that charge an article processing fee (APC) at the time of submission, regardless of acceptance or rejection, it does not qualify as a Predatory/Dubious journal.
Authors will not be refunded for articles that are rejected following the peer review process. Additionally, YÖK's Frequently Asked Questions and Answers section on Predatory/Dubious Journals from January 2021 explicitly states in response to Question 44:
"Journals that request a fee or an additional fee from the author for publication after article acceptance (Predatory/Dubious Journals) cannot be used in the declaration for associate professorship applications, as this constitutes a conflict of interest. However, these works may be included in the CV and list of publications."
Within this framework, journals meeting the following criteria may be included in the associate professorship application declaration:
*Journals that charge a fee at the time of submission, regardless of acceptance or rejection,
*Subscription-based journals that charge a fee to make an article open access,
